Dainty little loose powder single compact by Prince Matchabelli from the early 1930s. In a darker royal blue than the photos show, this seems to be a pretty rare colourway that I've not seen before
Lid is set with a little mirror, whilst the base has the patented sliding loose powder dispenser (Pat. No. 1.836.722) and Prince Matchabelli branded powder puff. Interestingly the patent might not be exclusive to this brand, so it's likely these were manufactured by another company and then branded (A little Googling brings up a Boyer with the same mechanism).
Width= 4.4 cm
Length= 5.7 cm
Thickness= 1 cm
In great vintage condition, some wear to the blue on the base and sides, and some pitting, but in otherwise great condition for a nearly 90 year old compact.
